Product Line Questions
What features do your 5.56 barrels have when compared to factory barrels?
Our system was designed to work better with suppressors. We started from scratch and focused primarily on this. Due to our delayed venting system, you can expect a reduction of roughly 4db at the shooters ear when compared to a factory barrel with the same configuration.
Do you offer the rail system or individual rails as a standalone item?
No- the rail sections screw directly to our gas block. The factory gas block does not have the mounting surfaces for our rail system, so they are incompatible.
Will you offer any shorter barrel lengths in any of the caliber conversion kits?
At this time, we do not plan on releasing any additional barrel lengths past what is listed on our website. While the 9mm conversion kit is not limited by the gas block location, we do not plan to release a shorter version.
Are your barrels concentrically threaded?
Yes, all our barrels are designed to work with suppressors and the threads should be concentric to the bore.
Upon visual inspection, the .300blk conversion kit may look off center. This is due to the 1/2×28 to 5/8×24 adapter. If you believe you have an issue and are not able to confirm alignment, please contact us immediately and we will start a warranty RMA to get the item returned to us so we can confirm and get you back to shooting as quick as possible.

Heresy Design Inc. warrants that the enclosed product was originally manufactured free of defects in material, workmanship, and mechanical function. For the lifetime of the product, Heresy Design Inc. agrees to correct any manufacturer defects via repair, adjustment, or replacement with the same or comparable quality components. This limited warranty is null and void if the product has been misused, damaged, fired with handloaded, reloaded, or improper ammunition, fired with an obstruction in the barrel, or if unauthorized alteration/repair has been performed.

What fire control components are approved for use with the Heresy Design AUG 9MM Conversion?
The Heresy Design AUG 9MM Conversion is tested and approved for use only with factory Steyr AUG fire control groups and factory accessories, including the lighter factory red spring.
Because the 9mm conversion operates on a direct blowback system, it generates a higher impulse than the standard AUG operating system. The use of aftermarket fire control components, trigger modifications, or non-factory enhancements can create an unsafe operating condition.
Use of any non-factory fire control components immediately voids the warranty and removes all liability from Heresy Design.
For safety and reliability, only factory Steyr AUG fire control components should be used with this conversion.

Do you only ship to FFLs?
Most of our products are not serialized, so we are able to ship direct to customers. We do not ship to PO boxes. Our silencers are NFA items, and are only able to ship to licensed FFL holders with current SOTs. If you prefer to buy from your local gun shop, please find your closest dealer using our dealer locator page.
Which states do you ship to?
It is imperative that you research your state’s laws to ensure compliance. Generally, our products can be shipped unmodified to all states except for the following:

Magazine Shipping Restrictions
Heresy Design does not ship magazines capable of accepting more than 15 rounds to addresses in Virginia. Customers are responsible for knowing and complying with all applicable federal, state, and local laws before placing an order.

What is Sezzle, and how does it work?
Sezzle is a buy now, pay later payment option available during checkout for eligible customers.
Depending on eligibility and the options presented by Sezzle, customers may be able to divide their purchase into multiple scheduled payments rather than paying the entire balance at checkout. Sezzle’s traditional Pay in 4 option divides the purchase into four payments over approximately six weeks, with the first payment due at checkout.
Available payment plans, approval, payment dates, service fees, and other terms are determined and displayed by Sezzle during checkout. Heresy Design does not determine customer eligibility or manage individual Sezzle payment schedules.
Orders placed using Sezzle are subject to the same shipping, cancellation, warranty, and return policies as orders placed using any other payment method.
If a refund is approved, Heresy Design will submit the approved refund amount through Sezzle. Sezzle will then adjust the customer’s remaining payment schedule or return the applicable amount to the customer’s original payment method. Any shipping deductions, restocking fees, or other return adjustments permitted under our return policy will be deducted before the refund is submitted.
Technical Questions
What type of magazines and ammunition do you recommend?
We conduct factory testing and guarantee our products’ proper function with the use of SAAMI spec ammunition. We don’t recommend the use of reloaded ammo from your crazy uncle.
Will the .300BLK conversion kit run with subsonic ammunition and a flow through suppressor?
Our conversion kit does not require a suppressor to function with most brands of subsonic ammunition. If you are using a flow through suppressor, or suppressor with very little back pressure, you may need to adjust the gas settings for your setup.
We have a variety of suppressors and ammunition in-house that we test our kits with to ensure maximum reliability.
What is the recommended maintenance schedule for the .300BLK conversion kit?
Because our gas port goes down the barrel, it is closer to the chamber and better prevents carbon buildup in the gas channel. We have not found a significant amount of fouling, even after several thousand rounds through our conversion kits used for r&d purposes. Please note that the gas channel does not require cleaning for the system to function.
We do recommend regularly checking your gas adjustment system. From the factory, the gas adjustment knob can be difficult to manipulate and may require the use of pliers to adjust the first few times/until broken in. Once broken in, we recommend that you continue to check this and clean as needed. Suppressor and ammunition type can impact this.
Do you have any suppressor or ammunition recommendations?
Our 5.56 and .300BLK gas systems were designed to be adjustable for optimal performance with any suppressor.
The .300BLK system was designed to cycle with subsonic ammo without a suppressor. The system does not require back pressure from the suppressor to cycle, so even suppressors that claim zero backpressure should run without issue.
The only ammo you might have to adjust is .300BLK subsonic. Some subsonic ammo has shown to be problematic due to the burn rate of the power used. Stryker subsonic is the only type that causes cycling issues from our in-house testing.

What type of cleaning or maintenance is required?
To clean your conversion kit, simply remove the gas adjustment knob and piston components. Clean the piston and rifle bore as you normally would, then reassemble. We do recommend following the preventative maintenance and other instructions that you received with the factory firearm. Our maintenance instructions are solely for the heresy design components.

How do I remove the muzzle device that shipped with my conversion kit?
The 5.56 and .300blk conversion kit muzzle devices are under tension from the crush washer. You can find basic removal instructions from silencer central here.
The 9mm conversion kit barrel has a machined-in 3-lug suppressor mount that cannot be removed. In front of the 3-lug suppressor mount, the barrel is threaded 1/2×28 and has a thread protector over it. Simply turn the protector to remove it.

Product Return Requirements
Before returning a product, customers must contact our warranty department and receive an approved Return Merchandise Authorization.
Returned products must:

- Be sent back in their original packaging
- Include all components, accessories, manuals, and hardware
- Be securely packaged inside a protective shipping box
- Include a copy of the receipt or sales order number
- Products returned within 30 days in new, unused, and complete condition may be eligible for a refund to the original payment method.
- Unless the return is the result of an error by Heresy Design®, the customer is responsible for original and return shipping costs. Returns may also be subject to a restocking fee based on the product’s condition, missing components, damaged packaging, evidence of installation or use, and the work required to return the item to sellable condition.
- Products that have been fired, modified, damaged, or returned incomplete may receive a reduced refund or may be ineligible for return.
- Refunds approved more than 30 days after purchase may be issued as account credit at the discretion of Heresy Design®.
- Products purchased through a dealer or third-party retailer must be returned through the original place of purchase.
- Heresy Design® reserves the right to inspect all returned products and determine refund eligibility and the final refund amount.
- We reserve the right to modify these requirements at any time.
